In Chicago, a woman gave birth on a public transportation bus.

It sounds like something out of a movie.

An expecting mother feels contractions. Her husband races her to the hospital. Unfortunately, the new baby doesn't want to wait. The birth ends up somewhere besides a medical facility.

It became a true story recently in Chicago.

According to chicagotribune.com,

"The baby wasn't due for another week, but the woman began feeling contractions, so she and her husband hopped a bus for the hospital just in case. They didn't get very far. The baby girl decided to make her debut with the bus still 3 miles away."

The bus driver pulled over quickly and called the paramedics. The new dad took the doctor role as the baby arrived.  They were surprised how fast the birth happened.

Mom and baby are doing great.

It sure makes for a great story.
