Would you ever name your baby after a character in the movie, Star Wars?

Growing up, I think most of the people I knew were named after a family member or friend.

Others got their name from things like a song, band, character in a book, favorite place to visit, famous person, or a movie.

Where did your parents get your name from?

How about your kids? How did you figure out what to call them?

"Star Wars" has a huge fanbase, so of course, there are many children named after something or someone in one of the movies.

In fact, according to huffingtonpost.com, there are several "Star Wars" related names that have become very popular.

"The Social Security Administration revealed in 2017 that Kylo was the fastest-growing baby name for boys, following the character Kylo Ren’s introduction in the 2015 movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

"After “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” hit theaters in 1999, the name Anakin increased in popularity by more than 400 percent."

Here are some my favorite "Star Wars" themed names that have become popular.

  • Jedi
  • Obi
  • Lando
  • Han
  • Solo
  • Falcon

I'm a little disappointed there are no kids named Jawa.

Did you know any Children in Rockford named after "Star Wars?"
