First Trolley Car 36 needed help, now it's time for the Forest City Queen.

Budget cuts are happening everywhere and sometimes they hit close to home.

Recently, I covered the Rockford Park District budget deficit that was eliminating Trolley 36. Fortunately, a citizen's group has come in with fundraising and it looks like it will be saved.

Now, another longtime attraction is facing a shutdown.

According to mystateline.com,

The Forest City Queen, the Rock River boat ride, is also part of those same cuts.

Again, people of Rockford are trying to help.

As of now, they are struggling. There is only $200 collected. If you would like to help, there is a gofundme page.

They are hoping to come up with $22,000 by the deadline of April 13th. The money would go towards repairs and operating expenses.

It's time to save the queen.
