Another Bridge in Rockford will be Closing for Repairs

After the announcement that the Jefferson Street Bridge will be closed for repairs until the end of April, came the news that a second bridge will be closing.

According to mystateline.com, the Pierpont Avenue Bridge on the city's southwest side will close April 4th, that's between Cunningham and Montague at Levings Lake. The city announced Friday it's replacing a bridge deck and making general repairs.

Should construction remain on schedule, the bridge will re-open in mid-June. Drivers can use Springfield Ave. to avoid construction.
