The Shape of Water took home the Oscar for Best Picture on Sunday and one of it's stars wasn't there with the rest of his cast. Instead Michael Shannon was sitting at the bar at the Old Town Ale House with a beer in his hand, the TV on mute as he watched his director and cast mates walk onstage to accept the award.

As reported by the AV Club, Shannon had be in Chicago directing a production at A Red Orchid Theater. A Red Orchid Theater is about a two minute walk form the Old Town Ale House. The owner of the Old Town Ale House, Bruce Elliott, is the one who shared the photo of the actor on Twitter.
