Actor Dustin Diamond Likes Hanging Out In Rockford

When actor Dustin Diamond, AKA Screech, from the legendary television, "Saved By The Bell," isn't on the road working as a stand-up comedian, he enjoys visiting Rockford.

Even though Rockford is a pretty good size city, I've always considered it more like a smaller town.

Besides occasionally running into Rick Nielsen, there aren't many celebrity sightings here. So when there is, news travels fast.

Last week all of a sudden selfies with "Screech" in the Forest City started popping up all over Social Media.

Then I received an interesting text asking if I would like to interview Dustin Diamond. Back in the day, I watched "Saved By The Bell" all the time. There was no hesitation. It was an immediate yes.

Diamond was in town to film some commercials for "Insurance King." In between shoots, I got the opportunity to sit down and chat with him.

He was a really nice guy, funny, and professional.

We talked about music, clowns, acting, binge-watching shows, stand-up comedian and much more.
