A Rockford 12 Days Of Christmas

I'm sure you're familiar with the holiday song, The 12 Days of Christmas, but what if there was a Rockford version?

As a kid, I thought it was funny when people took a real song and changed the lyrics to make it a funny one.

For example, when "Jingle Bells" was switched to "Batman Smells."

When I was in high school, my friends and I would change the words to rock tunes all the time. It gave us something to do during lunch.

Then I got an idea. What if I came up with a Rockford version of "The 12 Days of Christmas?" That could be interesting.

I could have easily made it negative, but I decided to just have some fun with it.

    • The Rockford IceHogs normally carry two goaltenders.

• On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...
  • Original - "Three French hens"

    • Fred VanVleet was a basketball star at Auburn.

• On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...
  • Original - "Four calling birds"
  • New Rockford version - "Four Hall of Famers"
    • The four original members of Cheap Trick are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

• On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

  • New Rockford version - "Five Rusted Hearts"
    • Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts has five band members.

    • Rockford Peaches played with nine players each game.
