When you think of fall what comes to mind?

Changing of leaves, apples, apple cider, pumpkins, corn stalks and of course hay bales.

A city south of Rockford is getting creative with a festival that's all about hay.

It's beginning to look like fall with the leaves starting to change the cool crisp mornings turning into warm afternoons and Rochelle, IL is celebrating the season with their 2nd Annual Hays Days festival.

The festival centers around hay , which there is plenty of arounf these parts. Local creative minds and artist participate in a contest to build the best sculpture out of hay.

Last year the piece de la resistance was the Statue of Liberty created by local resident and artist from Rochelle, Franz Volz.

This year the center piece setting the stage is a hay model of the headless horseman from the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.(Rochelle News-Leader)
Right now, according to the City of Rochelle's facebook page, many are looking for hay bales to make their creations.

This year's Hay Day takes place Saturday October 14th from 11am - 5pm. To read more about what fun to expect visit EnjoyRochelle.com or read more about the details given by the Rochelle News-Leader by clicking here.

How fun I can't wait to see these sculptures.
