108 year old Mabel Ball celebrated the Cubs winning the World Series, and then passed away.

According to The Chicago Tribune, 108 year old Mable Ball from Northbrook was a huge Chicago Cubs fan who waited her entire life to see them win it all. Days later, Mable left us.

Mabel became a "local celebrity" doing  T.V. and newspaper interviews about her lifetime love of the Cubs. When her son asked about her celebrity, her response was priceless:

It's a lot of nonsense - Mabel Ball

I think I love her just because of her response.

Mabel was known by her family and friends as a sweet person, that held no malice towards anyone. She listened to Cubs games on the radio, but only attended one game at Wrigley Field.

Her son Rich was quoted as saying:

The cruel irony, the almost unbelievable irony, is that the person who waits and waits and waits, after it happens, says, 'I've done what I've got to do, and I'm out of here
