As we all know, 96.7 The Eagle is celebrating our Tenth Anniversary this year. Over the past ten years, I have met many great listeners and rock fans. I consider them friends. There's Dave, Tony, Wendy, Jeff, Penny, Sal, Tony (another Tony), Courtney, Genoa Jerry, Fat Bob and Shelly, Tim and Michelle, Dave (another Dave), the 'Z' man and many many more.

Some of my favorite people to talk to about rock 'n roll are kids. I love meeting young rock fans who are discovering artists, players and songs for the first time. Some have cool parents who turn their kids on to great music and others pick up classic rock on their own. I was listening to music as early as I remember. Check out this fresh-faced youngster enjoying a new 8-track:

Several years ago I met the Swansons. Roger is a hard working guy who has devoted much of his personal time supporting our troops and collecting items for our soldiers and shipping them off to faraway lands. He has their back, you could say. Roger is a rock fan, but not the biggest one in the Swanson household. His daughter Ashley is. Not only is she a huge fan of classic rock at the age of fourteen, but she is The Eagle's biggest fan. Recently the Swanson's located to Texas and thankfully, they still keep in touch.

They took 96.7 The Eagle with them by listening on-line and installing the RadioPup App to their mobile devices. They can listen anywhere in the world from Amarillo to Zanzibar.

I received an email the other day from Roger. It seems they visited the famous Cadillac Ranch. From what I can tell, visitors are encouraged to grab a can of spray paint and design their own art work on the partially buried American classics.

Ashley, you get Eagle shirts for life:
