A 5-year-old boy received an invoice for £15.95 for not going to a friends birthday party.

An unbelievable story coming from across the pond as left me baffled.

A boy named Alex Nash, who is 5-years-old, received an invoice in his school back pack. The invoice is from his friend's parents asking him to pay the £15.95 for missing their child's birthday party.

Let's rewind.

According to metro.co.uk, Alex RSVP'ed to the birthday party originally saying that he was going to attend. His parents then realized that he already had a plan to spend the day with his grandparents.

The morning of the party, Alex's parents asked him if he would rather go to the birthday party or spend the day with his grandparents. Alex chose spending time with his grandparents. They tried to get a hold of the friend's parents to change the original RSVP, but they did not have an email, contact number or address.

When Alex went to school, the 'friend's mom' gave Alex's teacher an envelope and asked the teacher to pass it along to Alex's back pack for him to take home to his parents.

Once home, Alex and his parent's looked in the envelope and found the invoice.

Now, the other boy's mother is insisting that they pay the fine (which is about $25 or so American money) or she will take the family to small claims court.

WHAT!? I'm beyond baffled by this! Is it even right for a parent to charge? Take the poll.
