It was 5 degrees with a wind chill of -20, and I was sitting outside watching bad football.

See that in the photo I took, that is the sun. Did it help the freezing cold temps, in my head it did.

Ten years ago I was sitting in these same seats when the Chicago Bears clinched the NFC and punched their ticket for the Big Game. It was cold it was snowing, and the Bears were really good.

It is now 2016 and the Chicago Bears and terrible. Not a "name" on the team, not a player to get excited about, not a single game has interested me this year. I was contacted by a good friend that we were "getting the band back together" to go to this ridiculous game. Not a darn thing on the line, just a bunch of bad football in below zero conditions.

So here I sit on a Monday afternoon, no signs of an illness so I most have done things right. Here are five things I learned at the Bears game Sunday:

  • As much as I dislike the Green Bay Packers, their fans sure do have a good time.
  • I can double as a security guard for the mayor of Chicago.
  • 5 degrees out, a cold beer still tastes good.
  • Man the Bears are bad
  • Hand warmers will make a metal detector go off
